Olmesartan is used in the treatment of hypertension and heart failure. It may lower the risk of stroke and heart attack. Metoprolol is used for hypertension, chest pain (angina), arrhythmias, heart attack, heart failure and migraine.
How it works
Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by relaxing blood vessels which lower the blood pressure and also reduces the workload of the heart. Metoprolol blocks the action of certain chemical messengers on the heart and blood vessels. This effect reduces heartbeat, blood pressure, and strain on the heart following a heart attack.
