How it works
Metoprolol is used in the treatment of chest pain (Angina), arrhythmias, heart attack, hypertension, heart failure and migraine headaches.
Hydrochlorothiazide is used in hypertension, heart failure, edema (Fluid retention) and kidney stone.
Common side effects
Metoprolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing heart rate and relaxing blood vessels to improve blood flow to the organ.
Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic. It lowers blood pressure and fluid retention in edema by removing the extra water and electrolytes from the body.
